What is BidSling?
BidSling is a professional electrical estimating app designed specifically for electrical contractors. It helps you create accurate material takeoffs, manage labor crews, track equipment and overhead costs, configure markups, and generate professional PDF bid proposals.
How do I create my first project?
After signing up, tap the '+' button on the Projects tab. Enter your project name, client name, and job address. You can then navigate to the Takeoff tab to add materials, the Labor tab to configure your crew, and the Costs tab for equipment and overhead.
What materials are included in the database?
BidSling includes over 5,000 electrical materials organized by category, including conduit, wire, panels, switches, lighting fixtures, boxes, fittings, and more. Each item includes real-world pricing and labor units. You can also create custom materials that are automatically categorized.
How does the markup system work?
BidSling lets you configure insurance/tax rates, office overhead percentages, and separate markup rates for labor, materials, and equipment. You can also add fringe benefits per hour. All markups are applied to your base costs and displayed transparently in the bid summary.
Can I use BidSling with my team?
Yes! With an Enterprise plan, you can invite team members and assign roles (owner, admin, estimator, viewer). Each role has appropriate permissions, and all team members share access to company projects.
How do I export a bid as PDF?
PDF export is available on Solo and Enterprise plans. Open your project, go to the Summary tab, and tap the 'Export PDF' button. The PDF includes itemized breakdowns of materials, labor, equipment, overhead, and your total bid price.
What subscription plans are available?
BidSling offers three plans: Free (1 project, core features), Solo ($49/mo, unlimited projects, full database, PDF export), and Enterprise (from $199/mo, team seats, role-based access). All paid plans include a free trial.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can manage your subscription through the app store where you subscribed (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or through the app settings for web subscriptions). Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings in the app and select 'Delete Account'. This will permanently remove your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS encryption. Your passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We follow industry security best practices to protect your information.
